Integrating a Fair Trade
Two Labeling Programs for a Fairer Word :
To make fair trade a reality in my supply chain (FT).
To attest to my organization’s good social and environmental practices (CSR).
Eligibility requirements
Pratical conditions:
All companies and organizations involved in the production, processing or trade of natural products (from agriculture, wild harvesting, aquaculture, livestock farming, beekeeping, etc.) or artisanal products can request to be part of the Fair for Life or For Life labeling process.
The Fair for Life label is open to finished products in the following categories:
- Food,
- Cosmetics,
- Textiles,
- Handicraft,
- Other products made from natural ingredients, such as detergents or home fragrances.
Examples : oils, spices, fruit and vegetables, cotton, honey, etc.
Frequently asked questions :
Is the label open to organizations of all sizes and in all geographical areas ?
The Fair for Life and For Life certification programs are open to many types and sizes of farming structures. They are not limited to so-called “underdeveloped” or “developing” countries. Any organization demonstrating the need for support and meeting the eligibility criteria can be supported.
Does the label only apply to organic-certified companies ?
It is not necessary to be certified organic to apply for Fair for Life or For Life certification. However, the transition to organic farming is strongly encouraged, to be healthier and safer for people working on the farm and consumers, and to limit environmental pollution from chemical inputs.
Ethical conditions:
The companies and organizations concerned, including affiliated entities, must demonstrate that their practices are already aligned with the core values set out in the standard. This means that all operations must demonstrate a clear commitment to social, environmental and ethical values at a corporate level.
Fair for Life’s rigorous eligibility process protects consumers and partner companies against money-laundering practices. Certification must not be used to conceal unethical practices or present a misleading image.

My path to certification
Frequently asked questions :
How much does it cost to get the label ?
Certification and labelling costs vary according to the size and complexity of your operation/supply chain, the certification(s) requested, the location of your operation and producers (local costs and travel time), and whether or not you are already certified organic or have another certification.
The cost of each certification is calculated based on multiple factors. To obtain an accurate quotation, please provide us with as much detail as possible on the appropriate application form. A quotation will be prepared after evaluating your information. You will then be asked to confirm your request and approve the estimated costs by signing the offer and certification contract.
How long does it take to get the label ?
Depending on the maturity of your project, the state of your preparation and your proactivity in resolving deviations from the standards, it takes an average of 6 months from your first application to the issue of your certificate.
